For a private client in Barcelona, Mikhaela Martin developed two murals for a rooftop terrace as part of a site-specific artistic intervention. Guided by the client’s insights and daily use of the space, the project was conceived around the concept Fluid Mind, aiming to transform the terrace into a place for disconnection, reading, and creative reflection.
The first mural draws inspiration from Japanese landscape art, incorporating fluid lines, organic forms, and a balanced color palette to evoke calm, rhythm, and movement. Painted directly on the rooftop, the composition responds to light, sky, and architectural elements, creating a serene visual atmosphere that encourages pause and contemplation.
The second intervention focuses on the entrance gate facing the garden. More minimal in language, this mural uses subtle symbolism and restrained forms to visually extend the garden into the built structure. References to sky, horizon, and natural continuity reinforce the dialogue between interior, exterior, and landscape.
Conceived as a unified project, the two murals function together as a continuous visual experience, enhancing the emotional and spatial quality of the terrace. This project reflects Mikhaela’s ability to translate personal narratives and conceptual frameworks into immersive, site-responsive artworks that elevate private spaces through art.
