Selected as the winner of a European-wide open call by Vans, this project brought new life to the historic outdoor velodrome in Barcelona through a large-scale mural celebrating movement, freedom, and urban creativity.
The scope encompassed every stage of the project, from concept development and mural design to full production
and execution. This included obtaining government permissions to paint in a public sports facility, managing logistics, sourcing and purchasing materials, issuing invoices to the brand, and leading the entire painting process on-site.
The mural was painted on over 700 square meters of surface,
covering the resting zone of the cycling track, an iconic and visually prominent space within the venue. The final artwork, featuring flowing organic forms and vibrant tones, was widely perceived by visitors as bringing the sea into the velodrome, evoking a sense of calm and fluidity within the architectural space.
This large-scale intervention redefined the velodrome as a creative and inclusive space within the city’s urban landscape. The project exemplifies how artistic actions can transform public infrastructure into inspiring landmarks while also showcasing the power of brand collaborations.
